Moneylyn is a free, data-sourced financial calculator platform for Pakistan and international users. Every number on this site is researched from authoritative primary sources and documented with a verification date — we don't guess, and we don't copy-paste from other calculator sites.
Regulatory and official figures — tax slabs, contribution limits, policy rates, utility tariffs — are taken from primary sources: SBP, FBR, NEPRA, OGRA, the IRS, the SSA, Freddie Mac and the Federal Reserve. Commercial bank product rates are different: banks do not publish these in a consistent machine-readable form, so we compile them from a combination of bank websites and secondary industry sources, and we label each value with its origin and verification date. Where a figure comes from a secondary source we say so rather than implying we obtained it from the bank directly.
When sources conflict, we document the discrepancy and use the most conservative or most-recently-dated figure, rather than picking the one that makes the calculator look most impressive.
Data freshness varies by field type. Stable regulatory values (IRS brackets, contribution limits) are verified against each year's official publications. Market-rate data (mortgage rates, fuel prices) is reviewed when we identify that a published rate has changed. Each calculator displays the verification date for its key data. Always confirm current rates with the relevant institution before making a financial decision.
